Located steps away from the Menil Collection, the museum that houses the impressive and valuable private art collection of founders John and Dominique de Menil, this newly opened bistro is a casual place with an approachable, reasonably priced menu. There are actually four different menus here, depending on when you visit: a weekend brunch menu, lunch and dinner menu, afternoon menu, and an extensive dessert menu.
A wide variety of European-inspired but American fare is available, including salads, pizza, duck rillettes, eggplant “fries,” french toast, three-egg omelets, pear upside-down cake, white chocolate custard and much more. Also here is an impressive collection of draft beer, many from local breweries, as well as a cask wine program that is a more sustainable, green alternative because it reduces shipping and packaging costs; wine is kept in stainless steel containers with nitrogen to help preserve it.
